Gluten Free

Kenny has problems with foods like I have. He is gluten intolerant, but hasn't been as strict about it as I have been. He was very strict in the early 90's before I realized I had problems. Both of us would be careful and then we would cheat. I got into real trouble in April by cheating. And in fact, almost died! No more! I have been totally gluten free for about three months now.

He has been working out and not losing any weight. He decided to go off wheat and continue his workout, and is now seeing some success. He's feels much better as well.

I hope he continues to be strict about his diet. It just isn't worth to feel sick all the time.

Stocks!

Our portfolio has been jumping up and down like a roller coaster! We were down $1500 or more and now thanks to a good market today, it's going back up.

I bought more stocks during the dip, which has helped increase the value of our portfolio, and these particular stocks are expected to do really well in the future.

I also joined The Street.com. to receive their monthly newsletter on making money on penny stocks. I love penny stocks if you can get into the right one, you can make a bundle.

A penny stock is any stock under $5.00. In case you thought they were all a penny.

This is not a paid post for The Street.com. I just happen to love that website. It's Jim Cramer's website, and you know Jim's good with stocks.

Katie's Kite

The kids and I had a lot of fun flying their kites last June when I was there. We were there last weekend for a family reunion and I saw Nick's and Katie's kites hanging in their rooms. I just had to get pictures of the kites.

Katie named her kite Peggy after me. Sweet Huh?

Here we are flying her kite.

Nick's Kite

Nick's kite now hangs in his room.

Poor Nick! Mike worked so hard trying to get Nick's kite to fly, but to no avail. I finally got Nick to come and fly Katie's kite. He did have a good time after that. Until the wind caught it and it flew away that is.

The unbelievable thing was - just minutes before it took flight, Nick had asked me what would happen if he let go of the string. I told him that the wind would just take it away and it would just keep going.

I think he asked the question because the wind was so strong that he knew it could happen. It did! Within seconds of it flying off, Nick started screaming! I was sitting on the ground right next to him and Katie, but Katie nor I could console him. He was bereft!

Mike yelled at him to quit screaming. He thought Katie and Nick were fighting over the kite. I explained to Mike what happened, and we got Nick quieted down, and Andrew was over the fence in no time getting the "Peggy" out of the tree next door.

Mike hung Nick's kite in his bedroom, right over his bed. It looks really cool there, and they went to the store the next day and got him a good kite.

"Old Faithful"

Part of our Idaho/Wyoming trip was to go to Yellowstone Park. And of course you never go to JellyStone Park without watching the splendid Old Faithful spew her 10,000 gallons of water into the air.

It was disappointing this trip because the weather was not nice! It rained, and the wind blew, and we even had hail for a few minutes. Have you ever notice that hail always only lasts a few minutes?

We sat in the Old Faithful Lodge for more than an hour waiting, and luckily the rain stopped just long enough for us to brave the rain, lightening, and thunder and be as up-close-and-personal as the rail allows.

The normally gorgeous and spectacular spray was disappointing because it was against a gray sky, didn't go as high as I've seen in the past, and the wind was blowing and sent the water all over the place instead of straight up. The average height is 130 to 184 feet high. I think it was one of those 130 feet times.

We had my daughter Cari and my nephew Stephen with us, and they weren't the least bit disappointed! This was Cari's first time. Actually, it's her second time there but the first time she was only two, and she has no memory of it.

Stephen has been there before, but said he hadn't been there for 18 years.

All in all it was a wonderful day! The weather allowed us to walk around the hot pots or pools, and to walk around Jenny Lake, which is one of our favorite lakes in the world.

The rain was spotty and for the most part, the day was beautiful!

Family Reunion

We just spent the nicest weekend with our 30 immediate family members, our own children and grandchildren, in Rexburg Idaho.

Mike and Susan have a beautiful home on almost two acre's where Amy and Lisa pitched tents for their families to sleep in. The rest of us slept inside. They have five bedrooms. There is a sixth bedroom that is being used as a food storage room.

We arrived Friday night, had dinner, enjoyed the hot tub, (adults only) played Boxers and Briefs, as fun game until midnight, and called it a night.

Saturday after breakfast we drove up to the temple. Mike and Susan moved to Idaho a few months ago. Mike, works at the new LDS Rexburg Temple, and we had the opportunity of going to the temple site where he showed us around. We went into a trailer where the missionaries explain things to interested parties. There are pictures showing the temple from the beginning of construction, and we were given many interesting facts concerning construction and the inspiration that was given the Prophet that it should be placed in the spot where it is.

Afterward, we went to the splash park that is in the middle of town, and is free! The kids had a wonderful time playing in the water, and riding the merry-go-round.

We ate pizza and donuts, and after having a wonderful day, the kids all started for home.

Mike and I, and Cari and Stephen stayed that night and then drove to Yellowstone Park the next day.

Girls Night Out

Once a month or so the four girls: Chris, Sherri, Amy, Lisa, and a fifth: my niece Heather, who is like one of their sisters, have a get-together.

Sometimes they go out of town and stay over night at Park City, other times they stay at home, and spend the day or evening together rather than sleep over.

I am so very happy that they love to get together often, and that they are good friends and love each other so much!

Sinus Infection

After trying for a week to figure out why my jaw aches I've finally decided it is due to a mild sinus infection. I've experienced this many times in my life when I have a cold, and I knew I didn't have a cold this time.

I finally started using my homeopathic drops I buy from Dr. Whetton, and used them for three to five times a day for four days and my jaw finally relaxed! The condition is not completely better, but it has improved.

Genealogy

I love doing genealogy! I've spent the past 13 years doing it. For the past week I've added names to Mike's family line of King's and Queen's, that go back to the 1100's. This are the Plantagenet family. King Henry, Edward, of England.

It's very exciting when you connect your family to members of Royalty. We all come from there. It's just fun to find the connection.

I need to go to the library and make a disc to send to John and Karen in Hawaii. I had one for them when we went to Hawaii, but two of the discs didn't work. I would have had that done by now, but just didn't feel well enough to do it. I still don't, but I'm going to get over there and get it done.

I'll be glad when I can get back to Dr. Zone to see what the blood test shows. I certainly hope he can help me get well.

Candida Yeast Infection

For several days now I've had pain in my jaw. My jaw is tense and I can't seem to relax it. I did the exercise that I found on the web yesterday concerning clenching ones teeth, about 5 times, and once just before going to bed.

I ate 2 wheat tortillas two nights in a row, and wonder if the problem is more related to candida yeast infection rather than attributing it to clenching my teeth at night.

Doctor Whetton gave me drops to put under my tongue for candida yeast infection. The foods I'm allergic to, and sugar cause it. I ate a lot of sugar last week during our ski trip.

The pain has subsided in my jaw this morning, and my face is more relaxed. I'm taking the medicine this morning, just in case candida is the problem. I think it probably is.

I've written this note in several of the preceding blogs, but wheat and sugars are responsible for me to clench my teeth.
